Children are grouped by age and stage. Coaches make the experience welcoming for first-time players while creating the next challenge for children who are ready for more.

18 mo to 2 years

First contact with the ball happens through movement play: chasing, kicking, rolling and stopping. Toddlers copy simple actions and build comfort moving with a coach and caregiver nearby.

2 to 3 years

Short games introduce kicking, stopping, chasing and changing direction. Children also practice joining a group, taking turns and following simple directions.

3 to 4 years

Children begin dribbling through simple pathways, passing with a partner and controlling the ball before the next move. Imaginative games keep the pace right for this age.

5 to 7 years

Players build dribbling, passing, first touch, shooting and teamwork through skill challenges and small-sided play. Coaches start introducing spacing and decision-making.

7 to 9 years

Older Westchester players refine technique, speed of play, positioning and game awareness. Sessions create more competitive challenge while keeping progress and confidence at the center.
